2008 Two-Fourteen 2008 Two-Fourteen
This 2008 ‘Two-Fourteen’ Cabernet Franc Napa Valley is the second vintage of this wine produced by Lang & Reed. Violets and dried herbs highlight the effusive aromatics; scents of tarragon with notes of cherry abound. The impression on the palate is a wash of Cabernet Franc characteristics, reaffirming the herb notes and fresh red and black cherry – a lushness and silkiness to the finish makes the wine flow effortlessly. As Robert Parker of The Wine Advocate aptly noted, “Delicious notes of blue fruits, spring flowers and spice box soar from the glass of this medium bodied, fleshy, quintessentially elegant and complex Cabernet Franc.”

The color of this wine is a deep ruby red with highlights of violet blue on the edges. The aromas are reserved at first, but blossom into an exotic mix of bright cherry, black currant, spice and herbs layered with a hint of creamy vanilla. The palate teases with the similar cherry and currant flavors then bursts into a broad and mouth filling wine that is elegant and focused from the beginning to the finish. The structure of the wine holds together each of the components for a seamless impression, with firm, ripe tannins and an everlasting finish.

The 2009 North Coast Cabernet Franc has a bright, clear and brilliant red color rimmed in youthful violet-blue. Sweet cherry, herb and spice aromatics push forward accented with lightly toasted top notes. The flavors call forth bright cherry fruit and a mélange of dried herbs - all with a beguiling softness that begs for another glass. 

This is a wine to be shared and enjoyed between family and friends!
